Meet Julia Jane

Inspired by a love of stories, songs, and laughter, Julia Jane created the cheeky and mischievous Monkey in 2005. Although life became busy with family and her career as an occupational therapist (of 30+years), her dream of sharing Monkey’s adventures with children never faded.

Julia is a singer, songwriter, author, and creator of Monkey for Kids. In 2020, she released Monkey’s Favourites, a collection of original stories and interactive songs brought to life with music and playful sound effects. Her action song, Funky Monkey, placed 4th in the Children’s Category of the 2020 Australian Songwriting Contest (ASA).

A lifelong lover of picture books, Julia delights in creating fun, imaginative stories that spark curiosity, laughter, and wonder. Monkey Goes to the Moon is the first book in the Julia Jane Monkey series, combining playful adventure with Julia’s passion for supporting children’s emotional wellbeing.

Julia believes storytelling, music, rhyme, and play are powerful tools for learning and growing. She loves colourful illustrations, whimsical characters, and a little bit of mischief, and hopes her books inspire children to dream big and let their imaginations soar.
